
Device bassist Justin Chancellor and Candy Noise / Serce vocalist Peter Mohamed have resurrected their aspect challenge MTVoid after a nine-year absence. The duo have unleashed the brand new tune “Scanner Void,” with particulars on a brand new album anticipated to be introduced quickly.
Chancellor and Mohamed really quietly revived the challenge earlier this 12 months by way of an NFT collaboration with Armenian sculptor Vahan Bego that featured new music from the forthcoming MTVoid album, Matter’s Knot.
The brand new tune, “Scanner Void,” options drums and synths from Demise Grips producer Andy Morin. Chancellor’s melodic bass line drives the tune, which presents up parts of prog and noise, resulting in dissonant screeches and Mohamed unleashing a guttural scream on the lyric “They’re scanning your soul.”
“Peter and I actually push one another,” Justin stated of MTVoid’s new music in a press launch. “My enjoying is a response to what he creates. He’ll hit me with a beat, and I’ll spend days recording to it — virtually in stream-of-consciousness. I’ll reply to him, and I’m all the time excited at what he pulls out from my response.
